About Dobry Dental

Maybe it has been a few years since your last cleaning, and you are not sure what to expect when you call. Maybe your child is ready for a first dental visit, or a parent needs help with dentures, or you woke up with a toothache and need someone to see you soon. These are the moments we hear about every day at Dobry Dental, and they are why our family practice in Clinton Township, MI, has focused on the same thing for more than 40 years: making dental care feel approachable, understandable, and personal for everyone who walks through our door.

The question we hear most often from new patients is simple: "Who will I actually be seeing?" Here, the answer is a small, steady team led by Dr. John A. Dobry, who brings more than three decades of experience to every visit. Our practice has been part of this community for over 40 years. Many of the families we see have grown alongside us, which shapes how we approach care. We are not trying to rush anyone through a schedule. We want to know you well enough to notice changes over time and to give advice that fits your life.

Our philosophy is rooted in being a true family dental practice. We see patients from age 2 and up, so a parent, a teenager, and a grandparent can all receive care in the same familiar office. That continuity matters. When we already know your history, your concerns, and how you prefer to have things explained, every appointment builds on the last instead of starting from scratch.

Another common concern is whether you will need to go somewhere else for anything beyond a basic checkup. In many cases, you will not. Alongside preventive dentistry like cleanings, exams, fluoride treatment, and dental sealants, we provide restorative care such as fillings, inlays, onlays, crowns, bridges, and root canal therapy for front teeth, premolars, and molars. We also offer tooth replacement options including complete and partial dentures, dental implants, implant-supported dentures, and implant-supported bridges.

Our care extends into areas many patients don't expect from a general practice. We offer orthodontics for children and adults, with both traditional metal braces and clear aligners, including Invisalign. We perform oral surgery, including simple and surgical extractions and wisdom teeth removal, and we treat gum disease with scaling and root planing, periodontal maintenance, gingivectomy, and laser dentistry. For patients interested in their smile's appearance, we offer cosmetic options like porcelain veneers, composite bonding, gum contouring, in-office and take-home teeth whitening, Digital Smile Design, and smile makeovers. We also provide TMJ therapy, night and sports mouth guards, sleep apnea treatment, and space maintainers for children.

What to Expect When You Visit Our Office

Feeling nervous before a dental appointment is completely normal, and we take it seriously. Our goal is to explain what we see, walk you through your options, and let you make decisions without pressure. For patients who would like help relaxing, we offer nitrous oxide sedation. When something urgent comes up, we also offer emergency dental appointments, because pain and broken teeth rarely wait for a convenient time.

Here is what you can generally expect from a visit with us:

  • A welcoming check-in coordinated by Ann, our Office Manager
  • Care from our hygiene team, Krysta and Shelley, both Registered Dental Hygienists, and Wendy, our Dental Hygienist
  • Chairside support from Adele, our Dental Assistant
  • A conversation with Dr. Dobry about your exam findings and any recommended treatment
  • Clear answers about insurance and payment before treatment begins

Each person on our team plays a distinct role, and because we are a close-knit group, information flows easily from the front desk to the treatment room. That means fewer repeated questions for you and a smoother visit overall.

Making Care Affordable and Accessible

Cost is one of the biggest reasons people put off dental care, so we try to address it openly. We accept all major PPO insurance plans, and we accept Medicaid through Delta Dental. Self-pay patients are always welcome as well.

For treatment that is not fully covered, we offer flexible options. Our in-house financing carries no interest for up to 12 months, and third-party financing is available through CareCredit. Ann and our team are glad to review your benefits and payment choices with you so you can plan ahead with confidence rather than worry.

Rooted in Our Community

Being part of a community means more than having an office address in it. Dr. Dobry is active with the Knights of Columbus and BNI, and our practice contributes dental supply donations and sponsors a local swim team. These connections keep us close to the people we serve and remind us why our work matters beyond the dental chair.

Today, we care for patients from Clinton Township and throughout the surrounding area, including Shelby Township, Sterling Heights, Washington Township, Harrison Township, Mount Clemens, Fraser, Macomb Township, and Chesterfield. Whether you are looking for a new dental home for your whole family or need help with a specific concern, we would be glad to meet you and show you what more than 40 years of caring for this community looks like.
